About me

I am currently the Associate Chief Medical Informatics Officer for Prisma Health, South Carolina’s largest health care provider comprised of 18 acute care and specialty hospitals, 305 ambulatory practices, 5,200 clinicians (employed and affiliated via our IDN), and over 29,000 employees. In this role I provide leadership in multiple informatics domains, including optimization of our organization’s electronic health records system (Epic), serving as the system’s lead Epic Physician Builder, and developing a comprehensive clinical and operational analytics strategy. I also serve as the program director for an ACGME Clinical Informatics Fellowship with an anticipated first matriculation in 2025. When not working in clinical informatics I continue to treat patients as an attending hospitalist.

Since starting my career in clinical informatics I have come to appreciate that developing truly innovative and effective solutions to healthcare’s challenges requires a deep understanding of the complex interweaving of the people, processes, and technologies involved. By dedicating the time and effort required to understand these intersections I have had the privilege of leading multiple successful projects aimed at improving the healthcare of South Carolina while reducing clinical burnout. I hope to grow this platform to share lessons I’ve learned along the way.

Welcome and feel free to reach out.
